Mix

August 15th, 2011 by Michael

I recently decided to stop limiting myself to only playing music from the 1980s at “80s” night. This is a live recording from the first, and most underated  part of the night. It is dedicated to all of those heroes that show up when the party starts. I feel that DJaying doesn’t exist without an audience, so in this you are getting to hear my half of the musical conversation with the crowd. This is how i set the vibe for the rest of the night.

stay tuned for part II

Reissue of the year: Nile Rodgers presents The Chic Organization: Boxset Vol. 1

2010 has been a great year of for music. I’ve spent some quality time with all of these albums and I gave them all my highest recommendation. The *’s are for albums that I enjoyed on vinyl. Notice this list has no order to it because I don’t see the point in comparing a Caribou record to one by Kelis. I also should warn you that I didn’t listen to every album that came out this year and I may be leaving off your personal favorite. If you see my list and think i’m sleeping hard on (fill in the blank) than let me know in the comments. What are your top albums this year?

Happy New Year!!!!!!
